This black walnut ice cream is lusciously smooth and packed with nutty flavor. Maple syrup, vanilla and dark chocolate round out the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plus 2 tbsp black walnuts, chopped, divided
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 8 large egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bittersweet chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread all of the walnuts on a baking sheet. Bake until fragrant and toasted, 5 to 6 minutes. Set aside.
