Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 oz Irish whiskey
  • 3/4 oz chai simple syrup
  • 1 whole egg
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 oz heavy cream
  • ground cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Alternatively, heat water in a glass measuring cup in the microwave. Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove and discard tea bags. Stir in sugar, reheating the tea if necessary to fully dissolve. Stir in vanilla extract and let cool.

  1. Combine whiskey, chai simple syrup, egg and a pinch of salt in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously without ice for 1 minute. Alternatively, place an immersion blender in the open shaker and blend for 20- 30 seconds, until light and frothy.
  2. Add heavy cream, fill with ice and shake until chilled, about 30 seconds.
  3. Strain into a coupe or small cocktail glass and garnish with a dash cinnamon.
