gin sour

This gin sour recipe has layers of tart chalky lime, just enough sweetness to soften the gin, and of course, a thick layer of silky egg white foam. Use a great gin and this will become your go to cocktail to share with friends and family.

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 large egg white
  • 3/4 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • lime peel, for garnish


  1. Add gin, egg white, lime juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Vigorously shake until mixture is very foamy, about 1 minute.
  2. Fill shaker with ice and shake another 20- 30 seconds, or until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a coupe. Garnish with lime peel and serve.
